The glasswork tradition of the Eisch family dates back to the year of 1689. Unit 1946, Valentin Eisch, the founder of the Eisch Glass factory, started his own refining company together with his wife. With the extensive background and rich experience of handcraft tradition, Eisch today is exploring new and innovative techniques in glassworks for the benefit of the wine lover.
The latest innovation at Eisch is Sensisplus Glass (previously called Breathable Glass). A wine poured into a Sensisplus Glass for just 2 to 4 minutes will show signs of aeration equivalent to the same wine that has been decanted and aerated for 1 to 2 hours. This fully natural process takes place within the wine itself, just in minutes. The original character and structure of the wine are preserved, yet the wine’s aroma and palate impression become more open and generous, just as they would with an hour or more of aeration.
Another new Eisch product is the No Drop Decanter. With No Drop Effect, the Eisch glass factory now for the first time utilizes this effect for consumer glassware: It is employed to avoid undesirable drops when pouring drinks from carafes and duck decanters. This guarantees perfect stain protection of vessel and table-cloth! The No Drop Effect is based on a special treatment of the glass surface which permanently prevents drops from running down the outside of carafes and duck decanters.
